About Trek Maharashtra
Trek Maharashtra is a free English guide to travel in Maharashtra: its hill forts, sea forts, waterfalls, peaks, caves, temples and coast. We write for people visiting from other states and other countries as much as for Maharashtrians, so every guide explains the basics a local would take for granted: how hard the walk is, how to get there without a car, the best months to go and what to watch out for.
Who writes the guides
Trek Maharashtra is run by Vinay Kadam, a Sahyadri trekker from Pune who has been exploring Maharashtra's forts, trails and nature escapes and sharing routes and tips for beginners. The site is a Webcof product.
How we grade and check
Each trek gets one of four difficulty levels: easy, moderate, challenging or technical. See what each level means. Quick facts on every page come from the guide itself; when we do not know something, we leave it out rather than guess. Every guide shows when it was last updated.
