Privacy policy

The short version
You do not need an account to use Trek Maharashtra, and we do not ask for your name, phone number or location. We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use the site, as explained below.
What stays on your device
If you choose a starting city or save places to your shortlist, those choices are stored in your browser's local storage on your device. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Server logs
Our hosting provider, Hostinger, keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested and time) to run and protect the site. We use them only for security and fixing problems.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which guides are read, where visitors come from (for example search or social media), and what device and approximate region they use. We use Microsoft Clarity to see how people scroll and tap on pages, including heatmaps and anonymised session replays, so we can fix layouts that are hard to use. Both set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser. We do not use them to identify you, and we do not sell this data or use it for advertising.
Google and Microsoft process this data under their own policies: Google Privacy Policy and Microsoft Privacy Statement. You can block these tools with your browser's privacy settings, a content blocker, or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Embedded and linked content
Some guides include YouTube videos. A video loads from YouTube only when you tap it; after that, YouTube's own privacy policy applies. Links to WhatsApp, Facebook, BestIndianTreks and other sites take you to those services, which have their own policies.
If you email us, we keep your message and address only to reply and follow up.
Your choices
To ask what we hold about you or to have it deleted, email hello@trekmaharashtra.com.
Changes
If we add any other tool that collects data, we will update this page first.
